A Payment Gateway is an online banking service that automates payment processing and protects your property in certain situations. You can link your switch.cm system to one of our payment gateway partners and when a reservation is received from an online travel agency (OTA) like Booking.com or Expedia, the credit card information can be automatically downloaded and stored securely.

You can set this up to charge a deposit before arrival or to charge a partial or full amount on the date of the check-in.
We highly recommend using automatic charging for several reasons:

  • If a guest no-shows or cancels too late, you will be able to easily process the amount due to you, according to your cancellation policy;
  • If a guest makes a reservation several months in advance, you may receive a deposit immediately instead of waiting until they check in which helps to ensure the client will show up;
  • The automatic charging is automated and easier than having your staff collect payments;
  • If you do not have an in-house POS machine you may use your payment gateway to charge client's Credit Cards, just as a POS machine.
